Cambrian Rally

The Cambrian Rally is the largest, oldest and most prestigious event the car club organises.

Set in the challenging famous welsh forests of Clocaenog and Penmachno. The forests of North Wales are synonymous with rallying especially the Lombard RAC (now the WRC) back in the late eighties, with legendary drivers such as Stig Blomqvist, Markku Alen, Per Eklund and Juha Kankkunen.

The Cambrian was a superb warm up event ahead of the Wales Rally GB
Ford World Rally Team
In 2009 the Cambrian was joined by a selection of top WRC drivers, Mikko Hirvonen, Mads Ostberg, Steve Perez and Nasser Al-Attiyah.

Now in its 55th year (its been running since 1955!) the Cambrian is one of the qualifying rounds of the BTRDA (British Trail Rally Drivers Association). The Cambrian is recognised as one of the best rallies in the UK. This was confirmed in 2008 and 2009 when it was crowned ‘Best Event’ by both the BTRDA and ANWCC.

The event offers a real challenge for competitors, driving through some of the best forest stages, in some of the finest scenery in the UK.For spectators, it offers an action packed day and a chance to see classic Mk2 escorts to fully prepped WRC cars getting very sideways.

This year the event is on 16th October 2010 – For more information on the Cambrian Rally please visit www.cambrianrally.co.uk
